Rainy weather all day. Lunch for me was a Church's Chicken sandwich (.99 cents). Kaylan made a delicious Grilled Chicken with Pasta and Alfredo sauce dish for dinner this evening. (another Kaylan concoction!)
Weather Forecast
A cool front moving slowly through the area this evening is bringing an end to most of the wet weather. However, an upper-level low still over Texas tonight will keep clouds and a slight chance of showers in the forecast through the overnight.
Wednesday starts out with mostly cloudy skies, but sun returns by the afternoon as that upper-low pushes to our east. The day will be a bit cooler from start-to-finish, with morning temps in the mid 40°s climbing into the mid 60°s during the afternoon.
A second, stronger cold front will quickly move in from the north by Thursday morning, ushering in a shot of arctic air. Thursday’s highs will only reach the 50°s and temps could actually fall into the 40°s before sunset in some WAFB neighborhoods.
Our coldest weather is expected on Friday morning, with lows in the upper 20°s around metro Baton Rouge. That would mean areas north of the Capital City into Mississippi could face the threat of a hard freeze.
Is it any wonder people in this area have the sinus complications and struggle with cold and flu symptoms?

January 6
I went to bed early last night as I was feeling a bit under the weather. The tickle in my throat turned into a cough and some wheezing. Add that to chills and fever, and all I wanted to do last night was crawl under the blankets and sleep it off. When I awoke this morning, I was feeling much better. Yay!! (6:24am)
(10:17pm)
The sun peeking through the dense fog and leafless trees was so pretty this morning! After working four hours, my work day ended at noon. Today was the last 'half-day' Friday for me until after Tax Season is over. I won't have another weekday off until April 18th, the day after tax season ends.
I have finished all the housework and the laundry is all washed, folded and put away.
The lingering cough is an annoyance, but I am glad the cold/virus/flu portion has departed.
Kaylie made delicious chocolate cupcakes today!

January 4
Freezing cold this morning! The temperature was 28 when I ventured from my warm little home to go to work... Upon arrival at work, the radio in the foyer was turned on. I was the last person to leave the office last night and I know that I made sure the radio was turned off. But when I arrived at work, there was a 50's era song playing on the radio. (I can't remember what the song was called, but it was a sock-hop type song).
One of the ladies that I work with called in sick today, she either has a really bad cold or the flu. Either way, I am really concerned that I might get this illness and bring it home to my precious girls. I still have the tickle in my throat and no matter how often or how hard I cough, I cannot rid myself of this annoyance.
For lunch today I enjoyed one of my $1.00 frozen meals from the local market, grilled Chicken with vegetables and pasta in white sauce.
My lovely daughter prepared dinner and it was nearly ready when I returned home from work this evening. Dinner was spaghetti with meat sauce.
As I go to bed tonight, I pray that when I wake tomorrow this tickle in my throat will be gone and that nobody in my home will become ill.

It is now been three months since I've started working at the CPA's office. I couldn't ask for nicer people to work with and I absolutely love my job! Today the lady that I work for reminded me that I need to contact the Financial Adviser, as I am now eligible for retirement benefits... and I have started accumulating paid sick days, personal days and vacation days.
On my lunch break, I stopped by the bank to deposit my paycheck. Lunch today was Sonic Drive-In. On the way home from work tonight, I stopped at the local market and purchased groceries for the next week, and my lunches for the rest of the week. I am looking forward to eating my little lunches instead of going out to various fast food establishments.
I have had an annoying tickle in my throat all day, No matter how hard I cough, I cannot rid myself of this annoying tickle. I blame the crazy weather we've been having.
I give thanks to God every day for all the blessings He has given to myself and my girls :)

January 2
Well, here we are, the second day of 2012! I have enjoyed my Monday home and look forward to returning to work tomorrow! (Jan 3rd). There will be a freeze tonight, 29℉ for the overnight low, and the local area will be in a hard freeze for over six hours!
I have my laundry all finished for the upcoming week, folded and put away.
I came to a sad realization on Friday evening while at a local store. I can no longer reach the top shelves! All this time I thought my daughter was getting really tall, and while she is getting taller, I am also getting shorter! I guess one day I will be one of those adorable 'little old ladies' that asks for assistance reaching things on the top shelves while shopping. :)
