Letter from a Mother to a Daughter

LETTER FROM A MOTHER TO A DAUGHTER:

"My dear girl, the day you see I’m getting old, I ask you to please be patient, but most of all, try to understand what I’m going through.

If when we talk, I repeat the same thing a thousand times, don’t interrupt to say: “You said the same thing a minute ago”... Just listen, please. Try to remember the times when you were little and I would read the same st

ory night after night until you would fall asleep.

When I don’t want to take a bath, don’t be mad and don’t embarrass me. Remember when I had to run after you making excuses and trying to get you to take a shower when you were just a girl?

When you see how ignorant I am when it comes to new technology, give me the time to learn and don’t look at me that way... remember, honey, I patiently taught you how to do many things like eating appropriately, getting dressed, combing your hair and dealing with life’s issues every day... the day you see I’m getting old, I ask you to please be patient, but most of all, try to understand what I’m going through.

If I occasionally lose track of what we’re talking about, give me the time to remember, and if I can’t, don’t be nervous, impatient or arrogant. Just know in your heart that the most important thing for me is to be with you.

And when my old, tired legs don’t let me move as quickly as before, give me your hand the same way that I offered mine to you when you first walked.

When those days come, don’t feel sad... just be with me, and understand me while I get to the end of my life with love.

I’ll cherish and thank you for the gift of time and joy we shared. With a big smile and the huge love I’ve always had for you, I just want to say, I love you... my darling daughter."

HOW WILL YOU VOTE?

I am borrowing this from the wall of another. I am not sure of the author but I agree with the concept.

HOW WILL YOU VOTE?

I will vote for the most pro-life candidate, because God hates the shedding of innocent blood (Proverbs 6:17).

I will vote for the most pro-Israel candidate, because God blesses those who bless Israel & curses those who don't (Genesis 12:3).

I will vote for the most pro-debt reduction candidate, because the borrower is servant to the lender (Proverbs 22:7).

I will vote for the most pro-work candidate because God says if a man not work , let him not eat. (2 Thessalonians 3:10)

I will vote for the most pro-marriage candidate, because God is for marriage as defined in Genesis 2:24 .

I will vote for the candidate who most closely believes government's purpose is to reward the good & punish the evil (Romans 13).

I will make every effort to serve alongside of my own church and to support other churches in administering mercy, caring for the poor, the orphans and the widows, because God says to do so. (James 1:27)

I will vote based as closely as I can on God's Word (2 Timothy 3:16), knowing that whoever gets elected, God is the one who puts all men in authority (Daniel 2:21).

Sleepless Night

Usually, I sleep like the dead. That being said, last night I did not sleep well. I kept waking for reasons unknown. I'd sit up, look around and eventually go back to sleep. Then, a short while later, I would wake up again. This continued throughout the night...

Today, I am exhausted! I am looking forward to decent sleep tonight.

Traveling Carnival

There is a traveling carnival this weekend in the old Kroger’s parking lot not far from my house. Kaylan and I passed by while on the way home from running errands earlier tonight. Me: I see Final Destination waiting to happen…  Kaylan:  I see a pink video….  I then spent the next minute (we were at a red light) looking for something pink. Finally, I told her that I didn't see anything pink, and she giggled and told me she meant the singer Pink!  I guess I've been working too many hours!  :)

Insignificant Prayers are heard

So this morning, I spent nearly an hour searching for an old audit folder from 2005. As it is a Monday, my desk is piled high and everything needs to be done now! Finally, feeling like I was wasting my time... I knelt down and said a quick prayer, "Heavenly Father, if this audit is here to be found, please let me find it soon."  Not even 5 minutes later, I had the needed folder in my hand and was back at my desk...

February 13, 2012 (6:26am)

A very loud rumbling noise during the night that made the entire house feel as if it were shaking and the windows were rattling... and it just kept going and going...  today will be a very long day...

Gas pipeline rupture wakes many in northern EBR Parish

PRIDE, LA (WAFB) -
Authorities said a gas pipeline rupture in northern East Baton Rouge Parish is what made the loud noise that woke many people early Monday morning.
The Central Fire Department said it happened on Peairs Road near Reames Road in the Zachary/Pride area around 2:15 a.m.
Fire officials added Florida Gas Pipeline is on the scene working on shutting down the pipeline.
EMS workers are checking on a guy who was nearly right on top of the pipeline. He described it as standing right next to a jet engine. EMS was looking after him because he reported having trouble hearing after the rupture.
He said he saw when the pipeline ruptured and said it was at least a 30-foot section of metal that peeled back.
The loud noise was heard and the rumbling was felt many miles away from the site.
Many people described it as sounding like a plane crash, jet engine, freight train or tornado.
Some even said their homes shook. Everyone described the sound as loud.
"It sounded like a jet aircraft," one man said. "It was very loud."
"I have never heard that before," said Susan Morris. "It's always been a concern. We live right there by them, so it's a big concern. I always worry about the safety of them and hope everything goes well."
Officials evacuated all homes within a one-mile radius of the site, but called off the evacuation around 4:15 a.m. and people were allowed back in.
Peairs Road was closed to traffic at Reames Road due to the gas pipeline rupture, but all lanes were reopened just before 5 a.m.
There were no reports of fire.
